Masha Cermakoriginally Masha Palenkova, was born in
lower-class rural eastern Russia
to her mother and older sister in 1986.Masha's life was turbulent from the very start,
being a witness to domestic violence and abuse towards her sister. Her mother using unethical, illegal means to keep themselves afloat (drug trading). Masha's childhood was unstable full of abuse and was often being neglected by her father and tormented
by her older sister Catherine.
Masha immigrated to the United States in 1994 at the age of 8 due to her mother being wanted for drug related crimes, resulting in her last name being changed from 'Palenkova' to 'Cermak' by her mother.
She had issues adapting to her new environment, such as the language barrier and social customs though, it didn't take long for her to assimilate into society.
