Masha Cermak, originally Masha Palenkova, was born in
lower-class rural eastern Russia to her mother and older sister in 1986.
Masha's life was turbulent from the very start, her father being abusive to
both her mother and sister, her mother using
unethical, illegal means to keep themselves afloat (drug trading).
